Set within a mature, tree-filled landscape in Poortview, the Lawrence Road Residence was designed as a contemporary retreat that embraces natural light, wellness, and a seamless connection to the outdoors. The home is organised around a carefully considered journey, beginning with a long, sheltered walkway that leads to the entrance and frames views through to the water and landscape beyond.

The residence is divided into distinct living and private wings. The bedroom wing is centred around a family lounge, with each bedroom opening directly onto the surrounding gardens. In contrast, the kitchen, dining, and living areas flow effortlessly onto expansive patios, entertainment spaces, and a linear pool, dissolving the boundary between indoors and out.

A defining architectural feature is the continuous band of skylights positioned along the upper edges of key walls, drawing natural light deep into the home and creating an ever-changing interplay of light and shadow throughout the day.

Complementing the main residence are a separate guest suite and a dedicated entertainment pavilion, complete with a built-in braai, lounge, kitchenette, games area, and bathroom facilities. Through its restrained material palette of stone, timber, steel, and concrete, the Lawrence Road Residence achieves a balance of warmth, sophistication, and connection to nature, creating a home that feels both contemporary and timeless.
