Set within the mature, tree-filled landscape of Tzaneen, this extensive refurbishment and expansion project reimagined the existing hotel as a contemporary boutique destination while preserving the character of its natural setting. The design approach centred on creating a seamless relationship between architecture and landscape, allowing the site's established canopy and topography to inform the spatial experience.

The intervention introduced a refined architectural language defined by clean geometric forms, natural stone detailing, exposed structural elements, and generous glazing. New guest accommodation, public spaces, and landscaped terraces were carefully integrated into the site, creating a series of interconnected indoor and outdoor environments that celebrate the surrounding greenery and climate.

Valued at approximately R25 million, the project transformed the property into a modern hospitality offering, balancing understated luxury with a strong sense of place. The result is a contemporary retreat where architecture, landscape, and guest experience are thoughtfully woven together to elevate the identity of the hotel and its setting.
